Since 2009 it has been a statutory requirement that any newly appointed SENCO must achieve a National Award in Special Educational Needs Co-ordination within three years of appointment.
School Improvement Liverpool in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University are now offering a National Award in Special Educational Needs Coordination, PG Cert SENCO.
The course has been designed to ensure that, in achieving the learning outcomes, SENCOs will have engaged in a practical and relevant programme where the assessment activities are in keeping with their role.
On successful completion of the award you will achieve 60 credits (Level 7) at postgraduate level – In line with the DfE requirements.
The course will be delivered over 6 full days with additional twilight opportunities. The taught sessions will take place during the working week and in order to complete the award attendance at all sessions will be essential.
Twilight sessions will offer the opportunities to engage with LJMU tutors who will provide you with the appropriate academic support to enable you to plan and complete your assessment activities. They will also be available at additional times to give on-going support.
Being enrolled as a LJMU student will also provide the benefits of support such as access to the online library and Blackboard (a Virtual Learning Environment that can be accessed on and off campus).
All costs are subject to VAT
