Hi Five

Services
Hi Five
Hi Five™ aims to introduce study skills through Reciprocal Reading techniques and discussion of text types, to develop independent reading and writing strategies and to encourage children to edit as a natural part of the writing process.

This training is in essence a Wave 3 intervention for Year 5 onwards, but also provides excellent generic literacy training for teaching assistants working in Key Stage 2.

Children will learn prediction, clarification (of new vocabulary, phrases etc.), questioning and summarising.

Pupils find the short chapters and simple sentences support the initial teaching of these skills, preparing them for working with longer, more complex texts.
