Chester Zoo is a fantastic and unique learning experience for everyone and can bring your text books and school lessons to life! 
School Improvement Liverpool have teamed up with Chester Zoo to offer free tickets to Liverpool Maintained schools, as well as members of Wirral Children's University. 

Chester Zoo offers a brilliant and unique learning outside the classroom environment for students of all ages. 

With 11,000 incredible animals, an amazing collection of artefacts and enthusiastic experts ready and waiting to share their passion for the natural world with you, a visit here is the perfect way to bring your text books to life!

There are some great new curriculum-linked workshops lined up for this Autumn Term and a seasonal treat for KS1 and 2 children in which Santa Claus himself puts in an appearance.

Whether you’re interested in one of our workshops or prefer a self-guided visit, Chester Zoo will help you make the most from your day and to provide a great learning experience for your pupils.

Wet Weather Routes

Is the great British weather stopping you bringing your class to the Zoo? 

Are you thinking that neither the children nor you will have fun in the rain? 

There’s no need to worry!  At Chester Zoo you can have an enjoyable educational trip by seeing our wonderful animals and keep dry in our many indoor exhibits.
We can’t guarantee that you will remain completely dry after a rainy day at the Zoo, but we think that a wet weather day can be just as enjoyable as a hot sunny one; however don’t forget your raincoats and umbrellas! 
Here are a few ideas for beating the rain at Chester Zoo (depending upon the ages of the pupils and what you’re studying in school, you may want to miss out or spend more time in particular exhibits:

Please note, all visits booked through the Quantum Leap programme are only free of charge if schools present valid booking confirmation on arrival. Chester Zoo will automatically invoice any schools who forget to bring their confirmation e-mail on the day.
Schools are reminded that you need to present your booking confirmation e-mail at Guest Services on arrival and failure to do so results in a delay in them being admitted into the Zoo, as well as holding up other visitors.

Ratios & Additional Adult Ticket prices

Nursery/ Reception/ Year 1/ Year2/ year 3 - ONE free adult for every five children
Years 4 to 6 - ONE free adult for every ten children
Year 7 + - ONE free adult for every fifteen children

Additional Adult tickets:
This year, the additional adult tickets are split into off-peak, mid-peak & peak, hence the three prices below:
£12.00 up to & inc 01.04.16
£13.00 From 02.04.16 – 27.05.16
£16.00 From 06.06.16 – 21.07.16

Payment terms and conditions

Chester Zoo won’t be offering an invoicing facility for schools bringing additional adults over the free adult ratios, schools will now have to pay on arrival, also workshops will need to be paid for at the gate.
