CU in your school

Services

Children’s University can support your school in promoting progress for all students, facilitating a programme to motivate and inspire all students to achieve their potential.

For more details on how CU operates, please see the sections below.  If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with a member of the team!
Choose which current out of hours school activities you would like to be validated and complete the Module proposal e-form to register your schools modules with Liverpool CU.

We have lots of exemplar module forms for a wide variety of clubs in our resource section – please feel free to adapt these for your own clubs, or simply browse for ideas!

Children’s University modules have an educational rather than recreational focus and evidence what learning outcomes and skills the pupils will learn through participation in the module.

*Please be aware that module forms need to be submitted before the club starts, or this may cause a delay in uploading the details onto the E-Passport*
In order to determine which children are eligible for graduation, schools need to record how many hours children are spending at each extra-curricular activity.  This can be collated through club registers, Passports to Learning, or directly into the E-Passport.

There are two different ways to record this information, through a master spreadsheet, or via the E-Passport.  Regardless of which method is used, at the start of the school year each school needs to send through a download of all pupil data (see below for specific categories required) and send through School2School secure data transfer system.  If you need any guidance using the system please refer to their website.

PUPIL DATA REQUIREMENTS

Data options: Spreadsheet

The spreadsheet enables schools to manually record all data via a workbook.  The spreadsheet is quick and easy to use, and is especially useful for schools with younger children.

E-Passport (https://epassport.explc.com/Public/Login)
The E-Passport is an online tracking system that children can use to manage their children's university learning – giving them ownership of their own learning journey.

Each child will have their own login and can update their passport with hours achieved and see how many hours they need to complete until their next award. The E-Passport creates an online children's university learning community where children can see what other children in their school have been doing and importantly what they thought of it! Children can also upload pictures and comments which are moderated by the teacher before going live on the website.  Children can also suggest new Learning Destinations and countdown to their next certificate!

The E-Passport costs £1 per pupil per year, and has been proven to dramatically cut the administration for Children’s University.

Data options: Passport to Learning/E-Passport

Passport to Learning
Children have the option to purchase Passports to Learning, which they can use to collect credits from after school clubs and Learning Destinations.

Passports to Learning cost £5, and can be purchased directly though our website, or via your school.

It’s really important to make sure all children and parents are aware of what CU is, and how children can take part.  We have a range of posters, template letters for parents, and other marketing materials for you to download – please check out our resources section to see what’s new!
