Children's University

Liverpool & Wirral Children's University
Children’s University is a national organisation run by local centres which validates out of hours learning for children aged between 5-14 years old, with a volunteering programme for ages 14 and upwards.

We validate after-school and lunchtime clubs, as well as museums, libraries, and external programmes encouraging students to access a wide range of extracurricular activities to support and enrich their curriculum learning.

Why become involved with Children's University?

Children's University™ can support schools to:
  • Develop impact evidence around the benefits of young people taking part in co-curricular opportunities - both on and off school site
  • Increase parental involvement in their child's learning
  • Use integrated IT systems to monitor hours and participation in co-curricular opportunities both on and off school site
  • Demonstrate and justify Pupil Premium or other budget spend
  • Look at School Improvement Plans and utilise learning outside the classroom to improvement attainment, achievement and attendance
  • Improve the confidence, independence and readiness for learning of the young people
The Liverpool & Wirral Children's University annual service agreements are available now.

If you are yet to receive a copy of our agreements and would like to know more about what's on offer, please email marketing@si.liverpool.gov.uk and our friendly team will send you further information.
