boostingreading@primary™ is designed to improve children’s reading by enabling them to be independent problem solvers who read with understanding and enjoyment.

This 2 day highly successful intervention programme will support children (Year 1 to Year 6) to practice independent reading skills on familiar text, alongside on-going assessment and unfamiliar text support.

It is recognised as an effective intervention by the Institute of Education, University of London.

Research shows that pupils make on average twice the rate of usual progress.

The 10 week programme is delivered in 15 minute 1:1 sessions that follow a common structure and focus on familiar texts.

The training provides a good mix of teaching, discussion and activities to practice skills and develop understanding. It includes an observation of two lessons and support with understanding the reading process.
The training and materials have been designed so that sessions can be delivered confidentially and easily by the trained adult.
